Lee, Myung Cheol

Mr. Lee, Myung Cheol is a partner at Yulchon’s Dispute Resolution Practice. Mr. Lee began his career as a judge in 2001 at the Uijeongbu Branch of Seoul District Court, and served as a judge in various courts including the Seoul High Court, Seoul Central District Court, Gwangju District Court, and Seoul Southern District Court. Mr. Lee worked as a professor at the Judicial Research and Training Institute, and then served as a presiding judge in charge of arrest warrants at the Tongyeong Branch of Changwon District Court, and the Suwon District Court. Thereafter, Mr. Lee served as a judicial researcher at the Supreme Court of Korea, contributing to the formation of many important precedents, and in particular, to the development of legal principles in various areas of labor law including dispatch, wage peak system, normal wage and dismissal cases. Mr. Lee subsequently served as a presiding judge of a civil panel at the Seoul Central District Court until joining Yulchon.

- 2025 Successfully represented an H Group affiliate in a motion for a provisional injunction against assemblies and demonstrations, securing a court order granting the injunction.
- 2025 Successfully represented S Corporation, a global industrial machinery manufacturer and seller, in a case where a retired employee claimed unpaid wages, arguing the invalidity of the Wage Peak System with Extension of Retirement Age, and secured a judgment in favor of the client on all claims.
- 2025 Successfully represented C Corporation, a broadcasting and telecommunications company, in an administrative lawsuit filed by an employee alleging unfair dismissal, and obtained a judgment in favor of the client on all claims.
- 2025 Represented an executive who transferred from H Heavy Industries to H Shipbuilding in a lawsuit seeking a non-compete injunction and successfully defended against all claims.
- 2024-2025 Achieved favorable outcomes in numerous other cases, including a criminal case against the Major of City T for violations of the Public Official Election Act, a media arbitration case involving an H Group affiliate, and a lawsuit concerning the general meeting of Busan A Redevelopment Association.
