Introduction
The Ministry of Employment and Labor (“MOEL”) conducts regular scheduled and unscheduled inspections of employers to check legal compliance and protect the rights of workers. MOEL also conducts special labor inspections when there is reason to believe there is a high risk of labor-law violations occurring. At a time when MOEL is intensifying its enforcement activities respecting labor-law violations, the need for legal counsel and guidance has never more urgent. And it is likely that labor inspections on issues such as non-payment of wages, unfair labor practices, illegal worker-dispatch arrangements, minimum-wage violations, mandatory premium pay for overtime work, and others will intensify even more. We prepare clients for both regular and special inspections, and guide them through the process of interacting with MOEL while minimizing their potential exposure and expeditiously resolving any issues that arise from an inspection.
