Introduction

Employers in Korea must navigate increasing regulatory and public scrutiny regarding workplace safety and health. We frequently advise clients on proactive compliance efforts, to ensure full adherence to Korea’s occupational-safety rules, avoid industrial accidents and illnesses, and limit exposure to criminal and civil liability. This involves assistance such as developing health-and-safety guidelines/manuals, and auditing workplace safety standards to help our clients avoid potentially significant penalties or litigation. We also assist our clients with handling official workplace-safety audits, and responding to imposition of administrative measures such as shut-down orders. We provide comprehensive legal and practical advice and assistance when incidents occur or are alleged at our clients’ workplaces. And where high-profile workplace-safety incidents occur, we work with Yulchon’s Crisis Management Team to help fashion an effective and coordinated response.
