Introduction

Yulchon’s AI Data Center (AIDC) is a dedicated multidisciplinary organization where technology and law converge, established in response to the paradigm shifts caused by the accelerating evolution of the AI industry and the transition to a data-driven economy, which have led to rapidly rising demand for legal services relating to AI regulation and data center infrastructure development. Jointly led by Jin-Seok Choi and Hyeong Joo Lim, with hands-on operational leadership and firmwide support provided by Jae Hyun Park, the Head of Yulchon's Corporate & Finance Practice, the Center advises clients across the entire lifecycle of AI projects, including (a) planning (e.g., site acquisition, licensing strategies, large-scale power procurement, energy infrastructure); (b) IT infrastructure and supply chains (e.g., high-performance GPU procurement, global software licensing, system integration and outsourcing for data center development projects); (c) finance and funding (e.g., large-scale financing and structured transactions); (d) data center development (e.g., construction and EPC contracts); and (e) AI compliance (e.g., AI regulation, data governance, and intellectual property issues). Guided by the core principles of efficiency and collaboration, Yulchon's AIDC proactively identifies and manages potential risks while contributing to the sustainable growth of the AI industry.
