Yulchon Wins Private Equity Deal of the Year at the IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards 2025

We are pleased to announce that Yulchon has been recognized as a winner of the “Private Equity Deal of the Year” at the IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards 2025.


Yulchon represented Jeisys Medical and its controlling shareholder, Chairman Dong Hwan Kang, in a deal with Archimed, a France-based private equity firm, through which Archimed, in collaboration with Chairman Kang, successfully acquired 100% equity interests in Jeisys Medical, a Korean listed company recognized for its world-leading biotechnologies in the beauty care industry. Yulchon successfully led months of intensive negotiations resulting in a complex multi-tier structure with a number of contractual arrangements and contributed to the successful completion of a tender offer for 100% of the equity interest in Jeisys Medical.


Yulchon assisted Chairman Kang in securing his decision-making rights and stake in Jeisys Medical, while Archimed was able to convert a Korean listed company into a private subsidiary. With its expertise and knowhow in the beauty industry, Archimed is expected to assist with Jeisys Medical’s expansion of its global footprint enabling a crucial increase of its corporate value.


This deal was highly praised for its innovative transaction structure, including the use of a multi-layered SPC structure to achieve the parties’ goals including facilitation of acquisition and financing. This innovative approach has set a new standard for similar transactions in Korea.

The IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards, hosted by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR), recognize the most innovative cross-border deals and the law firms behind them through extensive research and evaluation.


This year’s ceremony was held in Hong Kong on April 16, 2025.
