Introduction
Before joining Yulchon in April 2020, Mr. Choi commenced his legal career at Shin & Kim in 2005 and worked for Lee & Ko as a partner from early 2012. Mr. Choi practices primarily in the areas of capital markets, corporate compliance, mergers and acquisition, corporate governance, corporate finance, regulation of capital markets, capital markets dispute resolution, overseas investment, and foreign exchange regulations. In particular, Mr. Choi’s expertise is focused on domestic and overseas investment and issuances through various types of securities, transaction of derivatives and collective investment vehicles.

Representative Matters
- Regularly advise domestic and foreign clients on licenses of financial investment business (establishment, registration, approval for change of largest shareholder, and report on conducting incidental/concurrent business).
- Regularly advise securities companies and asset management companies on investigations and sanctions by regulatory authorities.
- Advised a foreign fund on the purchase of domestic real properties (office buildings, hotels and logistics facilities).
- Advised a domestic fund on the purchase of and investment in overseas real properties (preferred shares and senior/mezzanine loans).
- Advised a Korean consortium comprised of a power generation company and operating company on its investment in overseas energy/infrastructure assets (solar photovoltaic and wind power generation assets and data center).
- Advised a domestic asset management company on shipbuilding financing (support program for new shipbuilding).
- Advised a domestic asset management company on establishment of overseas fund of funds.
- Regularly advise on establishment and management of offshore funds.
- Regularly advise on establishment and setting up of public and private investment vehicles (investment trust, investment company and REITs)
