Introduction
Since joining the Prosecution Service in 1988, Mr. Kyung Soo Kim had served in various positions at, among others, the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office and the Ministry of Justice. Prior to joining Yulchon, Mr. Kim left his position of Chief Prosecutor at the Daegu High Prosecutor’s Office after 28 years with the Prosecution Service. During his tenure as prosecutor, Mr. Kim primarily focused on prosecuting corruption and economic crimes such as bribery, influence peddling, and crimes concerning public election, corporate, construction, insurance, tax, and securities while serving as a prosecutor and senior prosecutor at the Special Investigation Divisions of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office and at the Central Investigation Division of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office. As the Director of the Prosecution Service Division 3 of the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Kim coordinated national policies regarding public security, and he also handled public relations tasks as a spokesperson for the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office. In addition, based on his wide-ranging experience and knowledge on special investigations and public relations, Mr. Kim taught courses at the Judicial Research and Training Institute and the Legal Research and Training Institute such as “Insurance Crime,” “Special Investigations: Case Study,” “Management Techniques Involving Investigators,” and “Special Investigations and Press Reports.” Currently, he is a member of the editorial board of the Law Times, a media advisor to the Korea Broadcasting System (KBS).
