Kwon, Yong Bok
紹介
Mr. Kwon, Yong Bok earned his B.A. in Political Science and Diplomacy from Sogang University in 1987, an M.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1997, and a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Railway at Seoul National University of Science and Technology in 2025. Mr. Kwon began his public service career after passing the 33rd Higher Civil Service Examination in 1989. From 2010 to 2011, Mr. Kwon served as Senior Administrative Officer at the Office of the President, Cheong Wa Dae, and later worked as a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley. From 2013 to 2019, Mr. Kwon held various key positions at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (“MOLIT”), including Director General of the Bureau of Aviation Safety, the Bureau of Logistics Policy, the Bureau of Aviation Policy, and the Bureau of Construction Policy. Mr. Kwon also served as Deputy Minister in the Office of Central Land Tribunal and as Deputy Minister for Aviation Policy in MOLIT. From 2020 to 2021, Mr. Kwon was a professor at Korea National University of Transportation and Hanseo University. From 2021 to 2024, Mr. Kwon served as the Chairman of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority.
