Sung-Jin KIM, Kayoung KIM, Hyerim KANG, and Junghwan LEE have all re-joined Yulchon’s M&A team from another Big 6 firm, Yoon & Yang, marking a significant movement of lateral talent within the Korean legal market. This quartet, formerly the core members of Yoon & Yang’s M&A team, spearheaded numerous mega-deals.

Sung-Jin KIM, as the former head of Yoon & Yang’s M&A team, demonstrates exceptional expertise across various fields, including diverse M&A transactions, private equity deals, Healthcare, and domestic and international investments. “With extensive advisory experience spanning industries such as IT, manufacturing, finance, and healthcare, he has garnered praise for accurately identifying clients’ needs and delivering solutions tailored to each industry,” said Young Su SHIN, co-head of Yulchon’s Corporate & Finance Practice. His representative matters include the acquisition of Hanssem by IMM Private Equity, the acquisition of Asiana Airlines by Korean Air, the establishment of a joint venture between SK E&S and US Plug Power Inc., and the merger transaction between Celltrion Inc. and Celltrion Healthcare Co., Ltd.

Joining Sung-Jin KIM are three rising star partners, each recognized in several M&A ranking tables including Chambers and Partners, IFLR 1000, and asialaw. 

Kayoung KIM, hailed as a leading figure in the next generation of M&A, has garnered trust from clients through her prompt and courteous communication. Her recent major deals include SKS Private Equity’s acquisition of the Bloom Energy Corporation (American public company)’s shares, SK Ecoplant's acquisition of Daewon Green Energy and Saehan Environment. Additionally, she provided counsel to Premier Private Equity on its acquisition of Annhouse (Mega Coffee), showcasing her expertise and reliability in the M&A field.
