Yulchon wins M&A Deal of the Year at the Asia Legal Awards

Yulchon is honored to receive the award for M&A Deal of the Year: North Asia at The 2021 Asia Legal Awards for advising Prudential Financial, Inc.(“Prudential”) on its successful sale of Prudential Life insurance Korea (“PoK”).
Yulchon provided Prudential with comprehensive advice throughout the sale of its wholly-owned subsidiary, PoK, to Korea’s KB Financial group for 2.3 trillion Korean Won, or $1.9 billion. This was also one of 2020’s largest Korean M&A deals.
Ms. Hyeon Hwa SHIN, who, together with Ms. Nina KIM, successfully led the deal, said, "I am honored that the Prudential Life Insurance sales was selected as a representative deal for North Asia in 2020. Despite the uncertainty caused by COVID, we were able to successfully close this deal in a timely manner due to Yulchon's rich M&A experience and the outstanding expertise within our corporate practice."
The Asia Legal Awards is an annual event hosted by the Asian Lawyer, a sister publication of leading US legal publication The American Lawyer. The awards recognize Asia’s best deals, lawyers, and law firms for each year by comprehensively evaluating their importance, complexity, and innovation. This year’s awards ceremony was held as a virtual event on May 5, marking its eighth anniversary this year.
