Introduction
Hyuk Joon Kwon joined Yulchon LLC in 2026 after completing 19 years of distinguished service in the judiciary. He began his judicial career in 2007 at the Uijeongbu District Court and subsequently served as a judge in various courts, including Seoul Central District Court and Incheon District Court. He later served as a Presiding Judge in the Pohang Branch of the Daegu District Court and concluded his judicial career as a high court judge of the Seoul High Court.During his tenure on the bench, Mr. Kwon handled numerous significant criminal cases involving corporate crime, corruption, and capital markets, among others. He also accumulated extensive experience in civil litigation across a wide range of practice areas, including corporate disputes, construction matters, and international transactions, particularly while serving in the Seoul Central District Court and the Seoul High Court. In addition, he was seconded as an Advisor to the Legislation and Judiciary Committee of the National Assembly, where he was responsible for external affairs involving the National Assembly and other government agencies.Drawing on his broad judicial experience across criminal, civil, and administrative matters, as well as his exposure to legislative and governmental affairs, Mr. Kwon now advises and represents clients in complex litigation and related advisory matters as a partner at Yulchon.
