Providing Integrated Advisory Services Encompassing ESG Law/Policy/Strategy/Field Diagnosis for Food Company

Yulchon successfully carried out a comprehensive consulting project including advisory services on ESG law, policy, strategy, and field diagnosis for a food company.


The target company (a food company) had been receiving low ratings from external ESG evaluators and has set a goal to transform into a highly sustainable company in May 2021. To achieve this goal, the company has requested Yulchon to launch an ESG management system encompassing ESG risk management system based on the research of domestic and foreign legislation and policy as well as the best practices of the leading companies.


To draw the best outcome for the client, Yulchon decided to integrate the services of (i) Yulchon, the risk/governance expert, and (ii) ERM, the data computation/management methodology expert, which also holds the global reference. The firms set their roles and responsibilities according to their respective area of expertise, and as a result, they successfully launched ESG management system for the client. It is notable that this ESG consulting project was successfully carried out by integrating the services of a law firm and a sustainability management consulting firm.


Yulchon founded the ‘Yulchon ESG Research Institute’ in December 2020 as the first ESG think tank in Korea to provide the “one-stop service” for advisory on ESG regulations, investment, and management. Realizing from the start that ESG advisory service should be an integrated service encompassing the areas of law, policy, strategy and field diagnosis, Yulchon entered into a strategic partnership with ERM, a global sustainability management and environmental diagnosis firm in February 2021. In cooperation with ERM, Yulchon provides comprehensive ESG solutions to the clients.
