Weon Jin Kim is a partner in Yulchon’s Corporate & Finance Practice who specializes primarily in the areas of overseas investment, M&A, energy, environment, compliance and ESG. Ms. Kim received her LL.B. from Seoul National University in 2005, completed the Master of Laws course in Environmental Law at Seoul National University in 2014, and received her LL.M. in Environmental Law and Policy from Stanford Law School in 2016. Ms. Kim started her career as a prosecutor in the Jeonju District Prosecutor’s Office in 2010, after which she served as a prosecutor for the Uijeongbu and Changwon District Prosecutor’s Office until 2016. Ms. Kim then transitioned to the private sector as a senior legal counsel of the Hanwha Group where she was in charge of corporate legal affairs, response to investigations, patent litigation, compliance, and domestic/foreign renewable energy businesses. Having joined Yulchon in 2021, Ms. Kim currently advises on a wide range of legal matters for clients on diverse domestic/foreign energy project development and acquisition, foreign investment, environmental regulation and compliance.
