[Legal 500] Yulchon Ranked Tier 1 for Tax, Antitrust, Employment, and Real Estate in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2016

The Legal 500 has ranked Yulchon in tier 1 for Tax (for 9 consecutive years), Antitrust, Employment, and Real Estate in the South Korea jurisdiction for its annual Asia Pacific 2016 guide.

 

The firm’s Real Estate and Antitrust practice ascended to tier 1 based on notable matters handled throughout the year such as the Real Estate Group’s work advising Lotte Shopping on the sale and leaseback of 12 department  stores and hyper markets and defending Lotte Engineering and Construction in a lawsuit arising from the construction of the Lotte World Tower. One of the key highlights of the Antitrust Group’s work was convincing the Korea Fair Trade Commission to dismiss its investigation into Samsung C&T regarding an alleged construction cartel.

 

Yulchon’s Antitrust leadership was further highlighted with Legal 500 commenting that Hae Sik Park has ‘tremendous experience in handling complex and multi-jurisdictional matters’, and draws on the ‘outstanding expertise’ of Managing Partner Sai Ree Yun.

 

The number of additions to the Real Estate Group as a result of incorporating the firm’s government contracts team was also noted as one of the key factors in the group’s ascension to Tier 1.
