Yulchon Speakers at the November 2022 IBA Annual Conference in Miami

The 2022 IBA Annual Conference was held in-person for the first time in three years during the first week of November in Miami. Yulchon attorneys Mr. Doil Son, Ms. Sun Hee Kim, and Mr. YongSang Kim were speakers in the main sessions.
Mr. Son moderated the ‘Protecting data cross-border, after Schrems II – how do the Patriot Act, CCPA, GDPR, PIPL, etc. play a part in the whole scheme?’ session and discussed how particular jurisdictions approach and deal with international data transfers.
Ms. Kim led the ‘The future of money’ session on the issuance of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and its ramifications for payments, monetary policy, and financial stability, as well as legal implications.
Mr. Kim spoke about the intermediary's obligations, liabilities, and legal complexities in the ‘Intermediary liability regime: changing paradigm’ session.
The IBA Annual Conference is the world's largest legal event, and the previous in-person conference was held in Seoul in 2019. More than 5,000 attendees from 2,700 law firms from about 130 countries attend this event each year.
