Yulchon’s Managing Partner Mr. Dong Ryul Choi was named the South Korea Lawyer of the Year at 2021’s Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific Awards on May 27.

In recognition of his leadership and expertise within Korea’s legal industry especially in the field of Dispute Resolution, Benchmark Litigation awarded Mr. Choi with this highly-coveted prize, for which only one lawyer per jurisdiction is selected.

With expertise in the field of Corporate & Finance and White Collar Crimes, Mr. Dong Ryul Choi led Yulchon’s team in realizing the acquittal of the former STX chairman for alleged accounting fraud and reversed and remanded the case of Hanwha Group’s chairman on embezzlement charges. Mr. Choi also recently led to victory the high-profile case of Tada, a Korean mobility start-up, obtaining a judgement of acquittal on charges of violations of the passenger transport service act.
