Sai Ree Yun Named the Asian Law Firm Leader of the Year at the Asia Legal Awards 2019

Yulchon’s Honorary Managing Partner Sai Ree Yun was named the Asian Law Firm Leader of the Year at the Asia Legal Awards 2019. The awards ceremony was held at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong on March 21, 2019.
The Asia Legal Awards, hosted by The Asian Lawyer in association with The American Lawyer, honors the best work in the region. The Grand Prize Asian Law Firm Leader of the Year acknowledges managing partners who have displayed excellence in leadership, commitment to the firm, as well as growth in headcount, level of services, and jurisdictional and practice area coverage.
In recognition of Mr. Yun’s leadership, hard work and tireless service, The Asian Lawyer made an unusual decision this year to award this highly-coveted prize to an honorary managing partner, who is not an incumbent managing partner. As one of the founding partners of Yulchon and foremost experts in Korea’s antirust, international tax, and M&A fields of practice, Mr. Yun is recognized as a visionary leader who has driven the growth of Yulchon as the youngest of the “Big Five” law firms, together with co-founder Mr. Chang Rok Woo. Mr. Yun stepped down from his role as managing partner on February 1, 2019, and he is currently leading various CSR initiatives to better support social enterprises and public interest foundations in Korea.
