Korea to Expand Designation Requirement for Local Representatives under the Game Industry Promotion Act

The Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) is expected to designate an additional group of overseas game companies that will be required to appoint a local representative in Korea pursuant to the Game Industry Promotion Act (the “Act”). Overseas game publishers providing game-related services to users in Korea should review whether they may fall within the scope of the local representative requirement and, if so, take appropriate compliance measures.
