Advised Mirae Asset Global Investments in connection with its investment in Cologne City Hall Building in Germany

Yulchon advised Mirae Asset Global Investments on the acquisition of Mantelbebauung West and Mantelbebauung Ost, which are used as the Cologne City Hall building, and the related parking lot building.
This was a milestone transaction for Mirae Asset Global Investments, representing the first time that Mirae Asset invested in the EU through a semi-blind fund.
The acquisition was made for EUR365 million through a subsidiary established by a real estate fund managed by Mirae Asset, and was successfully closed in February 2016.
Yulchon collaborated with foreign law firms regarding the establishment of multiple levels of entities in multiple jurisdictions, and played an integral role in all aspects of this transaction in cooperation with foreign law firms, including review and assistance with client negotiations of all major transaction documents including the purchase and sale agreement, and review and analysis of due diligence reports provided by the local counsel.
