Finance Team advises KEXIM on JPY100 billion issuance of Samurai Bonds
2012.05.24.
Yulchon's finance team advised the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM) on the issuance of JPY100 billions of Samurai bonds. Samurai bonds refer to yen-denominated bonds issued by a foreign institution in the Japanese capital market. Many issuers find Samurai bonds attractive because of their relatively low financing costs.
The Samurai bonds in question were issued with different points of maturity: two, three, and five years. Yulchon's finance team reviewed the conditions of the Samurai bonds and advised KEXIM on general matters of the transaction, including preparation and review of a securities registration statement submitted to the Japanese financial authorities, review of the subscription agreement and fiscal agency agreement, and issuance of a Korean legal memorandum.
