Mr. Yun Su Choi was admitted to Seoul National University in 1984 with a major in law. He completed his doctoral program (constitutional law) at Seoul National University Graduate School of Law in 1996. Mr. Choi began his career as a prosecutor at the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office in 1994, and built up his career working in different prosecutors’ offices including the Seoul District Prosecutors' Office, Busan District Prosecutors' Office, Office of the Inspector General at the Ministry of Justice, and Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office Nonsan Branch (as branch chief). Mr. Choi served as the director and head of Drugs & Organized Crimes Departments of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office from 2008 to 2010, and served as the director for the Special Crime Division 2 from 2010 to 2011. In 2012, Mr. Choi oversaw the training of new prosecutors appointed for the very first time from law school graduates. After serving as a deputy chief of the Jeonju District Prosecutors’ Office in 2013, Mr. Choi served as a senior researcher at the Anti-Corruption Department of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office in 2014, where he was in charge of providing guidance for special crime investigations nationally. In 2015, Mr. Choi became the third deputy chief of the Seoul District Prosecutors’ Office, overseeing the investigations of Special Crime Divisions 1, 2, 3, and 4, Violent Crime Division, High-Tech Crime Divisions 1, 2, and Fair Trade Tax Investigation Division. He was promoted to chief prosecutor in December 2015, while serving as the deputy chief of the Busan High Prosecutors’ Office, and was appointed as the second deputy chief of the National Intelligence Service, where he oversaw domestic information collection and analysis, anti-communist investigation, prevention of espionage, prevention of terrorism, and the North Korean Refugee Protection Center. On May 31, 2017, Mr. Choi retired from public office. After four years as sole practitioner and one year and four months as a lawyer at Dr & Aju LCC, he joined the criminal team of Yulchon’s Dispute Resolution Practice.
