Dr. Wonseon Kiersten Choi is a foreign attorney in Yulchon’s IP & Technology Group, specializing in high-stakes international patent litigation and IP disputes. Leveraging her 30-year U.S tenure and a Ph.D. in Engineering from MIT, she offers a rare strategic bridge between complex technical innovation and sophisticated legal advocacy. Prior to joining Yulchon in 2026, Dr. Choi practiced at Covington & Burling LLP and Steptoe LLP in the United States, where she represented global industry leaders before the U.S. federal district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). She effectively advocates for clients at all stages of IP protection and litigation across a wide array of technologies, such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, OLED displays, software, and telecommunications. Dr. Choi earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from MIT, and her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Seoul National University. Her unique dual expertise in law and engineering allows her to translate intricate technical concepts into compelling legal arguments, providing clients with a decisive edge in cross-border IP conflicts.
