Yulchon"s Real Estate & Construction Group advised FG Asset Management in connection with its acquisition of an office building located in Houston, Texas, U.S.A. The acquisition was financed by three real estate funds managed by FG Asset Management. The entire area of the property is currently leased and used by Bechtel, an energy firm.

The Real Estate & Construction Group provided legal advice throughout this transaction including assistance with the review and revision of all U.S. contracts, preparation of other necessary transaction documents including those contracts to be executed among the Korean parties, review and assistance in formulating the transaction structure and preparation of necessary foreign direct investment reports.

Because this transaction took place in the context of a cooperative worldwide business restructuring involving both GSDK"s existing and new shareholders, providing expert advice required an in-depth understanding of the transaction background. The deal also required simultaneous coordination amongst a number of parties (many overseas) for the equity investment and related loan financing for the company"s intended operations, on an exigent schedule. Yulchon, by successfully managing the expectations of all interested parties and providing timely advice, contributed greatly to the successful closing of the transaction.
