Vietnam/Southeast Asia Team advises GS Home Shopping in the acquisition of ViVi Media Trading Corporation

Yulchon's Vietnam/Southeast Asia team provided legal counsel to GS Home Shopping Inc. ("GS") on a USD 3.5 million investment in ViVi Media Trading Corporation and acquiring 30% of its shares. ViVi's main areas of business are product sales and advertisement services. Under this transaction, GS is to initially invest USD 1.5 million and participate in the management of ViVi as the second largest shareholder, and will subsequently invest another USD 2 million for additional shares in order to claim the title of the largest shareholder. This deal is significant because the home-shopping industry in Vietnam is expected to expand in the future and GS is preparing a foundation for achieving its goal to become a global home-shopping enterprise by entering the Vietnamese economy and establishing a solid base in Asia. This case was handled by Eric Eunyong Yang, Yong Geun Bae, Su Gu Kang, Tehyok Daniel Yi, Youn Joon Han, Jae Won Lee, Chris H. Kang, and Nguyen Duc Minh.
