After passing the 29th Public Administration Examination in 1985, Mr. Seo served at prestigious institutions for about 25 years, including the Ministry of Finance, the Korea Fair Trade Commission, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Financial Supervisory Commission. He further advanced his career while serving as a senior officer in the Office of the Secretary to the President for Economic and Financial Affairs of the Office of the President and as an attaché of the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Korea to the OECD. From 2012 to 2014, Mr. Seo served the Financial Services Commission as Director of both the Planning and Coordination Bureau and the Capital Markets Bureau, as well as a standing member of the Securities and Futures Commission. He then assumed the role of First Senior Deputy Governor at the Financial Supervisory Service (2014-2017), before taking on the position of President at the Korea Banking Institute (2021-recent). Since October 2024, Mr. Seo has been serving as a corporate and financial advisor at Yulchon LLC.
