Mr. Seong Ho Choi completed his undergraduate studies in Business Administration at Seoul National University. He holds a Master of Public Policy from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management and a Master of Science in Finance from the Eli Broad College of Business, Michigan State University, USA. Mr. Choi passed the 36th Higher Civil Service Examination in 1992 and commenced his public service career the following year at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. In 1996, he joined the Board of Audit and Inspection, where he worked in major departments overseeing audits of the financial, economic and financial supervisory sectors. Between 2011 and 2018, he held several senior positions, including Director-General of the Special Investigation Bureau and Director-General of the Social and Welfare Audit Bureau. In 2017, Mr. Choi was seconded to the Presidential Committee on State Affairs Planning as a Senior Policy Advisor. Upon his return to the Board of Audit and Inspection in 2018, he held the positions of Deputy Secretary General of the Office of Planning and Coordination and Deputy Secretary General of the Office of the Public Sector Inspection. He was later appointed 2nd Deputy Secretary General in 2019 and 1st Deputy Secretary General in 2020, ultimately serving as Secretary General of the Board of Audit and Inspection from 2020 to 2022.After retiring from public service, Mr. Choi served as a Visiting Professor at the Graduate School of Public Administration, Seoul National University, from 2022 to 2023. In 2025, he joined Yulchon LLC as a Senior Advisor, where he provides expert consulting services on government audit practices, audit and inspection requests, proactive administration immunity cases, and internal audit systems for national institutions, local governments, and public organizations. He also advises individuals and corporations subject to audit.
