Nung Hwan Kim is an Of Counsel in Yulchon’s Dispute Resolution Practice. Mr. Kim served as a justice on the Supreme Court of Korea from 2006 to 2012. He graduated from Seoul National University’s School of Law and passed the 17th national bar examination in 1975 and was appointed as a judge with the Jeonju District Court in 1980. Later, he served as a judge in various courts, including terms as presiding judge at district courts and the High Courts in Seoul and Busan, research judge with the Supreme Court of Korea, and chief judge of Ulsan District Court. He was appointed as the chairman of the Korea National Election Commission (NEC) in February 2011 while he was serving on the Supreme Court, and managed the 19th National Assembly election in April 2012 and the 18th Presidential Election in December 2012. He resigned from the position as chairman of the NEC in March, 2013.
