Introduction
Yulchon has become the first major Korean law firm to set up a team of professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive and specialized legal services for the cultural industry – a continually-evolving area that encompasses music, performances, movies, broadcasting and sports. The team consists of a number of professionals at the core of and devoted to their respective fields of expertise within the cultural industry. Our team is led by Sai Ree Yun, Young Hill Liew, and Yong Pyo Yeom. Mr. Yun is a legal consultant for the Korea Broadcasting Commission. Mr. Liew is a member of the Korean Wave Policy Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He is also a renowned former patent court judge who recently became the first Korean invited to lecture at the Hague Academy of International Law. Mr. Yeom is a member of the Media Responsibility Committee of SK Communications. Yulchon’s cultural industry team has established a close working relationship with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Information and Communication, the Korea Broadcasting Commission and other relevant government ministries and has a great deal of experience successfully advising clients and litigating cases in the cultural industry.
